I had a few problems using X-Plane and the USB 2 interface on
my Mac. I was running a Futaba and a Multiplex Royal. The view
in X-Plane would keep switching from inside to outside the
plane and back again.
After advice from MFTech (Ralf) I went to the dark side with an
Intel Mac, reprogrammed the USB adaptor to turn off all the
unused switches, and then everything worked OK.
Using the program Joystick And Gamepad Tester (got
somewhere on the net) you can see what the USB adaptor is
doing, and check these before starting X-Plane.
My feeling is that the USB adaptor is probably more reliable than
whatever happens when X-Plane boots. Anyway, after a restart
or two of X-Plane, it all works very well.... flying a Horten wing
with an RC controller. Nice.
